Best Marketing Agencies for SaaS and App Startups: 10 Compared by Stage and Budget
Ten marketing agencies for SaaS and mobile-app startups, compared by the stage they serve, what they are strongest at and what they say about price. Gufy publishes this guide and is one of the ten.
By Suren, Founder & Growth Strategist at Gufy · Published

There is no single best marketing agency for a SaaS or app startup. The right one is the agency built for your stage and your bottleneck, and some of the best-known names say openly that they do not work with early-stage companies.
This guide compares ten agencies by the stage they serve, what they are strongest at and what they publish about price, then shows how to shortlist. Gufy publishes this guide and is one of the ten. The order is not a ranking.
How this list was put together
- Who is included. Agencies that say they work with SaaS companies, mobile apps or startups, chosen to cover different stages, specialities and regions.
- Where the facts come from. Each agency's own website, checked on 11 October 2026. Where an agency does not publish something, the table says so.
- What it is not. It is not a ranking, and nobody paid to be included. We have not worked with the other nine and cannot vouch for their results. Services and prices change, so confirm the details with each agency.

Start with your stage
Most lists sort agencies by reputation. For a startup, stage matters more, because the best-known agencies are built for companies with revenue and a marketing budget to match.
| Your situation | What you need | Where to look |
|---|---|---|
| Idea or pre-launch, no paying users | Customer interviews and a cheap test of the message, not a retainer | Do it yourself, or a short workshop. See five signs you are not ready |
| Live product, first paying users, small budget | Someone to find the bottleneck and run focused tests across ads, pages and onboarding | A small specialist: Gufy; Kalungi's early-stage programme |
| Around US$1M to US$10M in revenue, B2B SaaS | A repeatable pipeline: search, paid, content, sales alignment | Kalungi, Powered by Search, SimpleTiger, Gripped |
| Series B and beyond | Demand generation at scale, brand, expansion | Refine Labs, NoGood |
| Mobile app | App store optimisation, install campaigns, attribution, retention | Phiture, Moburst, Gufy for early-stage apps |
The ten agencies
Gufy
Fit: early-stage SaaS and mobile-app startups.
Gufy connects the work that is usually handled by separate suppliers: strategy, tracking and product analytics, paid acquisition, landing pages, onboarding and lifecycle messaging. Engagements start from the current bottleneck, and some begin as a growth workshop before any ongoing work is agreed.
- Strongest at: linking ad spend to what users do after sign-up, using tools such as Mixpanel and PostHog, and fixing activation before scaling acquisition.
- Evidence: the Syntrico case study (zero to more than $650,000 in annual recurring revenue in under five months) and other published work.
- Probably not for you if: you need a large content or search programme, or an enterprise demand-generation team.

What marketing agencies cost a startup
- Small specialists working with early-stage startups often charge around US$1,000 to US$2,500 a month.
- Established agencies that publish prices quote from roughly US$6,000 to US$20,000 a month and upwards, as the table shows.
- Ad spend is separate almost everywhere. A real test on one channel needs a budget of its own.
Ask for the total: fee, ad spend, tools and production. A fixed fee also weighs more heavily when the ad budget is small. Unit Economics for Startups shows how to count the full cost of a customer, and Marketing Budget for a Tech Startup Without Revenue gives realistic ranges.
How to shortlist
- Name the bottleneck. Is it getting found, converting visitors, getting new users to value, or keeping them? Pick agencies whose strength is that problem.
- Rule out on stage. If an agency says it serves companies ten times your size, believe it.
- Ask what they measure. Leads and installs are easy to report. Activated users, cost per paying customer and retention say more.
- Ask who does the work, and who you will speak to each week.
- Ask what happens when a test fails. Most tests do not produce a winner. You are paying for the pace of learning and honest reporting.
- Confirm you own the accounts and data.

Common questions
What is the best marketing agency for a SaaS startup?
There is no single best one. The right agency is the one built for your stage and your bottleneck. A pre-revenue startup, a company at US$2 million in annual recurring revenue and a Series B scale-up need different agencies, and some well-known agencies say openly that they do not take early-stage clients. Shortlist by stage first, then by the problem you need solved.
How much does a SaaS marketing agency cost?
It varies widely. Small specialists working with early-stage startups often charge around US$1,000 to US$2,500 a month. Established agencies that publish prices quote from roughly US$6,000 to US$20,000 a month or more, with advertising spend on top. Always ask for the total monthly cost including ad spend, tools and production.
Should an early-stage startup hire a marketing agency?
Only once strangers have shown they want the product. Before that, customer interviews and a small test of the message will tell you more than an agency retainer. Once there is a live product and some paying users, an agency can help find what is holding growth back and run the tests to fix it.
What is the difference between a SaaS marketing agency and an app marketing agency?
A SaaS marketing agency usually works on websites, search, paid campaigns, demos and trials, and measures leads, pipeline and recurring revenue. An app marketing agency works on app store listings, install campaigns, attribution and in-app retention. Some agencies cover both, but most are clearly stronger on one side.
How do I choose between a specialist agency and a full-service agency?
Choose a specialist when you know which channel or problem needs work, such as search or app store optimisation. Choose a broader growth agency when the problem crosses several areas, for example ads, landing pages and onboarding, and you need someone to own how they fit together.
Where Gufy fits
Gufy is the early-stage option on this list: a marketing agency for SaaS and mobile-app startups with a live or near-launch product, where the problem crosses acquisition, conversion, onboarding and retention. If you need a large search programme or an enterprise demand-generation team, one of the other nine will suit you better.
